    • We are currently working to fix an issue that is giving authentication errors when sending email. [Recently fixed]

DNS Configuration Problem (Resolved)

  • A DNS configuration problem has occured ONLY if you use a different mail provider than us and also use our DNS.

    Our Plesk control panel has accidentally mixed up things by adding our default mail entries to sites that use a custom mail server, causing some problems.

    We are working on tracking the problem down and fixing it all, but in the mean time if you notice anything strange please let us know ASAP and it should be fixed in 5-10 minutes.

Issues delivering mail to Hotmail/Outlook (Resolved)

  • A few issues have caused us to have a problem with one of our servers sending mail to Microsoft email systems such as Hotmail or Outlook.

    • A couple websites were out of date and got exploited, they sent out lots of spam and got us temporarily blocked.
    • People who forward their email from us to Hotmail means that their spam also goes along with it and appears to come from us, even though it doesn't. We've enhanced our spam protection and hoping this will prevent this from being an issue.
    • Microsoft (Hotmail/Outlook/Live) has a policy where they temporarily ban websites for a lot longer than everyone else, and it makes it difficult to get unblocked.
    Currently we are waiting for the problem to resolve itself (it normally does). Is this affecting your business? Please let us know. We do have a few solutions available:
    • Purchasing a dedicated IP from us will forever prevent you from being blocked, as long as you keep your IP clean (no website exploits, etc.)
    • We can move you to our newer servers that don't have these issues. We have plans to do this in the future anyways, but we can do it early.
      • This needs to be scheduled, usually in the evening.
      • Usually we can handle the entire job on our own, but if you don't have your domain registered through us, we will need you to be available at the scheduled time or for you to provide us access to your domain registrar's website.

  • We are currently investigating an issue that has caused one of our servers to not be able to send mail to Yahoo or AOL email addresses. We are investigating the situation. If you are experiencing any issues with this, we recommend you contact us to have you moved to one of our newer servers (which will happen in the near future anyways), which will solve the problem.

  • Our server was hacked by a spammer earlier today due to a FTP password that was too simple. The result was our servers main IP being blacklisted by Spamhaus. You may have problems sending mail to certain people (this does not affect domains on dedicated IP's). We have taken all the necessary actions to remove the hack and prevent it from occurring again, but we have to wait for Spamhaus to remove us from the list.

    This is a reminder that if you have an FTP password that is too simple, it's probably a good idea to change it to something a bit more complex. It's easy to do via the control panel, just click the "Web Hosting Settings" button. (A good pasword has letters and numbers, no actual words and great passwords use at least one symbol.)

    This issue will be closed once we have confirmation we have been delisted.
